We stayed one night at this beautiful country house surrounded by nature and farm fields. Claudio welcomed us even though we came late in the evening. The room was clean, cosy and well kept. Beds were comfortable, towels were provided. Claudio was very warm and welcoming host and prepared hearthy delicious breakfast! We loved the place and the host. Recommend if you want an authentic experience of italian countryside!

I spent one night in this Bed and Breakfast for a short getaway. Very hospitable landlord who rents out 3-4 rooms in his own house. The rooms are simple but clean. Shared bathroom/shower on the floor. Optimal price/performance ratio. Typical Italian breakfast with coffee, jam, bread, butter, jam, honey.

The cleanliness of the rooms and bathroom is at the limit of sufficiency, the breakfast is practically nonexistent, 1 puff pastry and 1 mini biscuit per person, and to my request if there could be something more to eat like yogurt or other biscuits, I was told no! Shared bathroom with zero privacy, the door and the entire wall were made of frosted glass, which practically allows you to see everything. Moreover, at the time of booking the selected double room, it said that the bathroom was external but still private, which is absolutely not true! The owner is overall kind, but excessively intrusive, he remained the whole time during breakfast sitting next to us staring at us. Finally, at the time of payment, the manager told me that he does not accept debit cards but only cash, and that he had sent me an email or message informing me about this; I checked again but I never received any communication about it! Absolutely not correct! The price is definitely high compared to what is offered, little cleanliness, nonexistent breakfast, bathroom with zero privacy. The place is fine for spending 1 night in a hurry, no more!

We spent a pleasant weekend in this facility immersed in the tranquility of the countryside. Claudio is a friendly person, he welcomed us warmly and prepared a good sweet and savory breakfast. Spacious room and comfortable bed.

Traditional BnB. Environment with rustic decor in accordance and harmony with the surrounding Romagna countryside. Clean rooms. Very kind and sociable owner. Breakfast with a good variety between sweet and savory as seen in the photo: particularly appreciated was the tasting of Parmigiano with drops of traditional DOP vinegar. The appearance of some adorable pets was also appreciated!

Very welcoming structure, very kind owner.

The structure has good potential, but it should be more well-kept and clean. The managers are very helpful and friendly. Breakfast is minimal compared to the visited Bed and Breakfasts. It is cheap, but for now, it's not worth it.

We stayed at 'La Perla del Mercante' for 5 days, but the experience was very disappointing. The rooms were infested with bedbugs. The room and the bathroom were dirty. The owner turned out to be very intrusive, not respecting our privacy. Very often he would knock on the door of our room every hour, disturbing our moments of tranquility both at breakfast, lunch, and dinner.

I stayed at the B&B of Mr. Claudio during the trip from Rome to Trentino. The location is splendid, close to the highway. Mr. Claudio welcomed me with kindness, offering me an excellent walnut liqueur prepared by him. The countryside atmosphere did the rest. Mr. Claudio cares about making his guests feel at home. Very positive experience, highly recommended structure.

Staying here for me was a relaxing dive into the countryside, cradled by the green of the vineyards and the genuine hospitality of the manager, Claudio, who puts heart and professionalism into every gesture.

The bed and breakfast is in a quiet location, surrounded by vineyards. The host is hospitable as in the best Emilian tradition. Recommended.

Simply wonderful. The Bed and Breakfast is cozy, family-friendly, and immersed in nature, where tranquility reigns among the Reggio Emilia countryside. Sleeping very well and waking up to the scent of Lambrusco wine. Let me imagine the beauty. The hospitality is exceptional, Claudio is a wonderful person, friendly and very helpful, even for those like us who have a medium-sized dog. Mr. Claudio is a good and down-to-earth person who probably does his best to manage La Perla del Mercante. The possibly dated photos with those details of care and attention do not reflect the current situation. Upon arrival, I allowed myself to ask the manager if they were camping. The neglect, disorder, and lack of cleanliness were evident to the point that we decided to give up the breakfast the following morning (included in the price). Even the pillowcases were malodorous. The upper floor bathroom has a wall that faces the hallway completely made of frosted glass, which does not put the user of the shower or toilet at ease. Even the one on the lower floor has a door with a large frosted glass. Then to define the B&B as partially renovated seems forced. In a normal situation, I would not have hesitated to leave, but on June 30th with Vasco's concert at Modena Park, finding accommodation would have been an impossible task. With a few more coins, a month ago we stayed in the center of Mantova in an excellent B&B, just renovated. My wife was upset and our friend accustomed to camping was speechless, he would have preferred to sleep in his tent. I am sorry to write such things, it certainly does not please me. However, it seems correct to warn potential customers because I hope that no one else will find themselves in a similar situation of discomfort. We have stayed in dozens of apartments, B&Bs, shelters, etc. It is undoubtedly the worst experience lived that has also affected the serenity and the success of the vacation. For breakfast, we rated it 5 only because we were forced to provide a rating, but as mentioned, it was not done.

Discovered a bit by chance, I would go back already tomorrow! Staying just one night was a real pity; quiet and with a postcard-like view, it's perfect for those looking for a bit of serenity! And thanks to the host Claudio, you almost don't feel like a guest, but welcomed as in a friend's house... and if you have the chance, ask him if he can prepare his fantastic cheesecake!

Meeting Claudio is an experience that deserves at least an overnight stay! The atmosphere is absolutely informal. A place and a person that convey a serenity worth capturing, for those who have the antennae for it, of course. You are not in a B&B, a friend has hosted you!

Great Bed and Breakfast in the countryside of Correggio, where I spent a night (March 2016); the warm welcome from the owner was a pleasant and unexpected surprise. Breakfast is the highlight: in the morning, I found a delicious and very fresh cheesecake! The area is very quiet and I highly recommend it.

I had a great time, thanks to the care, attention, and full availability of Claudio and his wife. A place and people who have contributed significantly to making the stay at the 'La Perla del Mercante' very pleasant. Definitely a place to consider for a future trip to those parts. A nice stay in the Emilian countryside, staying in this farmhouse takes you back in time when the peasant people lived an authentic relationship with nature, Claudio, the manager, and his wife Lucia are very friendly and welcoming, the breakfast is good and abundant with a homemade cake and I also received a jar of jam made with the plums from the garden tree as a gift! Thank you, it was a nice break on the highway journey, beyond the Carpi toll booth there is a beautiful world to discover!

The managers, Claudio and Lucia, proved to be exquisite and hospitable people, full of virtues, made me feel like part of a family. The rooms are beautiful and characteristic, the breakfast made with love and passion by the manager is stunning and sublime, worth returning for.

I stayed at the B&B La Perla del Mercante run by Claudio for two nights with my girlfriend. As we always work abroad, we wanted to experience a few quiet days in the peaceful Reggio Emilia countryside. Seeing the photos and knowing the area, it seemed like a perfect place for our couple's tranquility. Indeed, upon arrival, Claudio and his wife Lucia welcomed us with great enthusiasm. Moreover, the accommodation is completely surrounded by greenery, although it may seem like a very simple place upon arrival, but in the two days spent at the B&B, Claudio pointed out particular features of this house and told us the story of these places. At the end of the road, we were even able to purchase excellent Parmigiano Reggiano. The breakfast in the morning was excellent and abundant, clearly homemade. Claudio was extremely flexible with the schedules and always available for our changes in plans; in short, we couldn't ask for more! In my opinion, a great place for those who want to be in contact with nature and dedicate some time to themselves, without the noise of the city. Thank you very much for the hospitality! I believe we will return this summer! P.S.: While talking to the owner's wife, I discovered that she is a physiotherapist, so we also took the opportunity to have a physiotherapy session with her, which proved to be extremely courteous and helpful. We left feeling refreshed and more relaxed.

A welcoming atmosphere that comforts and warms, while the homemade walnut liqueur teases the palate. In the morning, a very abundant and varied breakfast: seasonal fruit, yogurt, coffee and milk or tea, freshly baked brioches and cakes made by Claudio like the Budwig cream (a real treat for the palate).\n\nIn the evening, we took advantage of the proposal to have dinner with green tortelli always made by the host. We also recommend it for those who want to have a short holiday filled with good readings and walks (and sleep on the hammock in the shade of the large maple).\n\nThank you, Lucia.

I begin by describing the nauseating smell of unwashed dog that can be immediately felt upon entering the facility. The rooms lack bathrooms; the communal bathroom is located outside in the hallway, something not mentioned in the property description, with a glass door and wall that won't close due to a broken lock. So, after a seven-hour journey, we couldn't even take a shower. The room doors don't lock; the old doors leave gaps through which you can see what's happening inside the rooms, requiring caution when changing in case someone passes by outside. Lastly, the "wonderful" breakfast consists of two thermoses with coffee and milk, a box of Mulino Bianco biscuits, and three burnt croissants.

My girlfriend and I, came to Correggio to discover the native land of our idol Ligabue, we stayed at 'La Perla del Mercante' for one night. Excellent location for those who love tranquility and nature, as it is immersed in the surrounding countryside of Correggio. Excellent value for money (Euro 25.00 each). The rooms are clean and welcoming. Good breakfast where we tasted a fantastic tart made directly by Mr. Claudio. To conclude, the availability and friendliness of Claudio and Mrs. Lucia make the difference, making us feel at home. We will definitely come back with pleasure on a next occasion.
