Al 28 B&B was born from a dream: the desire to continue sharing the story of the Mazzei & Bartolini family, which is inextricably linked to this prestigious apartment located on the first floor of a building from the early 1900s at via Carducci 28 in Portoferraio. After a renovation that revitalized the structure while maintaining the essence and personality of the home, the B&B opened its doors in May 2017, welcoming guests into a unique and eclectic atmosphere.

The location is perfect, right in the heart of Portoferraio, just a short walk from the Medici fortresses, the famous Ghiaie beach, and the port. Its proximity to the historic center and the Medici marina, along with the convenience of having restaurants, boutiques, pharmacies, supermarkets, and other services nearby, makes this establishment ideal for those wanting to explore the Island of Elba.

The apartment harmoniously blends the vintage charm of some historical furnishings with modern elements, creating an original and inviting environment. The four rooms, each with its own unique character, are named Alla Televisione, La Bohème, La Relax, and La Lei & Lui. All rooms come with a private bathroom featuring a shower, air conditioning, TV, Wi-Fi, hairdryer, complimentary toiletries, and linens.

Guests have access to various common areas, including a fully equipped kitchen, a living room, a dining area, a terrace, and an additional bathroom, perfect for refreshing themselves even after check-out. The house is equipped with a washing machine, dishwasher, refrigerator, microwave, Nespresso coffee machine, kettle, and even a personal computer with a printer.

I had a short but very nice stay at B&B Al 28. I was warmly welcomed and felt really comfortable. My room was beautiful, well equipped with an air conditioning, strong Wi-Fi, a TV, a couch, a big comfortable bed, a kettle and decorated with loving attention to detail. Also in the bathroom I could find everything I needed, like a hairdryer and enough towels. I could also use the kitchen and take prepared sweet snacks (like muffins and croissants) and water. The kitchen contained also a coffee machine, a kettle, a microwave and a toaster for free use. Everything was very clean. I was already in contact with Barbara, the owner, before my stay and she gave me advice concerning parking. There was also the possibility to arrive at the accommodation in the morning and leave the luggage there if the room was not yet ready. All in all my stay was enjoyable, easy and uncomplicated.

The place is located near the port, in the center of Portoferraio. It is very calm, very nicely decorated and very cozy. The breakfast was fantastic: almost everything was prepared by our host. I will remember the cappuccino, the best I have ever had! And, last but not least, a word for our host who has been very kind to us. I can only be thankful to her for our stay in Elba. If I have the opportunity to come back to Portoferraio, I will certainly choose the 28 B&B.

An absolute delight to stay at the B&B with Barbara and Andrea. They are wonderful, friendly, helpful hosts. We appreciated their personal touches and no request was a problem. The B&B Al 28 is located just a few minutes walk from both the port and the old town - ideal for travelers using public transport. The rooms of the spacious apartment are very tastefully and lovingly renovated, and the hosts are very friendly and accommodating. It's a pity we only spent one night there.

A real gem in Portoferraio, what was the house of the great-grandmother has been transformed into a charming bed and breakfast run by a super nice couple. A place where you feel good, welcomed and want to come back to.

The structure is located close to the historic center, just a few steps from the departures for the mainland. The building from the early 1900s has been recently renovated, preserving the coverings and furnishings of the past with various contemporary touches, making the overall atmosphere quite pleasant and welcoming. The rooms are new, spacious, and equipped with all the amenities of a 4-star hotel. The breakfast is excellent, with homemade yogurt and jams and high-quality raw materials. The hosts welcomed us upon arrival and were very friendly and helpful. Highly recommended!

I add to the 10 the praise. Two simply fantastic days. Everything perfect: the location, the organization, the atmosphere, the hospitality, the generosity, the cleanliness, the services offered. Small but delightful B&B. Exceptional breakfast. It is very convenient to have access to the kitchen if you want a coffee or herbal tea with cookies when you return after a day out. Everything was wonderful, from the apartment itself, to the room, to the breakfast, to the owners. We only stayed one night, but we will definitely come back: despite the short stay, we were welcomed by the sweetness and availability of the owners; the breakfast is abundant with homemade products (delicious cake, dreamy) and more, available both sweet and savory breakfast, delicious cappuccino and juice. My partner and I were welcomed by Barbara and Andrea in this huge apartment. The room and the bathroom were very clean, the modern furniture, comfortable bed and pillows. The breakfast was always plentiful and of quality, Barbara's mother makes excellent cakes, a different one every day. The location is strategic, close to the pebble beach, very beautiful and not too crowded and just close enough to the port (the ferries are not annoying, but they are 5 minutes away). If you need advice on where to eat or which beaches to visit, they are available to give suggestions. When I return to Elba, I will definitely go to them.

Exceptional. We stayed 3 days at the B&B Al 28! The apartment has recently undergone a conservative renovation that makes it unique. It is curated in every detail, furnished with originality and style. The room is very spacious, we stayed in the Boheme. The terrace is beautiful, where you can enjoy a great and abundant breakfast with delicacies like biscuits, jams, homemade yogurt.... and much more. We spent 3 nights in this wonderful B&B. As soon as we entered, it felt like being at grandma's house thanks to the new furniture with references to the past years. The whole place is managed by Barbara and her husband, two really nice and very sunny people, they recommended many places to eat and which beach to go to, I would say they hit the nail on the head. Breakfast is mostly made with homemade products. The atmosphere is very convivial, a strong point is also the terrace where breakfast is served, where you can meet other guests. I could add a thousand more positive things, but I conclude by saying that it will always be the first choice to go to Elba. Thanks Barbara and Andrea and see you soon!

In the following grid there is a list of reasons why I might have liked the property, but the reason why Al 28 B&B conquered me is missing: love. In every detail there is so much love and passion and also so much respect. Respect in the care of cleanliness and hygiene (not a speck of dust, everything shines), and in the kindness with which guests are welcomed and taken care of throughout their stay, a discreet presence that is not noticeable except in the comforts provided as if one were at home and also in the management that leaves nothing to chance to make the stay more comfortable. Love in what is offered and in how it is offered, breakfast becomes a moment of pampering that sees Barbara offering many delicacies made at home by her but especially by her mother, who delights us every day with amazing cakes, all genuine products like Andrea's figs used to make one of the many delicious jams offered. Love in the grace with which Barbara and Andrea interact with their guests giving themselves without barriers and making them feel like family from the start. Love in preserving the grandmother's house and offering it to all of us, but intact to keep the memory alive which is evident from the care with which every detail of the splendid antique furniture is offered to customers, and the terraces that retain that ancient charm and become oases of peace. Passion that shines through their eyes full of light like those of their beautiful daughters who, together with their dear grandmother, help with obvious involvement in the tasks and make Al 28 B&B a unique and beautiful experience to live.

I stayed at Al 28 B&B in the middle weeks of August. Very strategic location, close to the center of Portoferraio and the beautiful beaches in the north of the island. We have never found a bed and breakfast cleaner and more welcoming than this for our stays. Dedication and commitment are felt everywhere, in the breakfast preparation, in the organization of the structure, and in the friendliness and hospitality throughout the entire stay. The room is beautiful and comfortable, as is the breakfast with different proposals every day: nothing is missing. The structure is very close to the port and it is not difficult to find parking in the area. The beaches of Portoferraio are very beautiful, but reaching others is not difficult because you can easily get to the other side of the island in about an hour and a half. Highly recommended!

I stayed at Al 28 B&B last week. I was in Portoferraio for personal reasons and I was welcomed by Barbara and Andrea with discretion and great professionalism. The house is elegant, very well furnished, attention to details, and spacious. The location is strategic. The breakfast is abundant, varied, and attentive to the guests' needs. The kitchen is available all day with coffee, tea, and excellent pastries prepared by Barbara. The owners are professional and discreet. Thank you very much, Barbara. Simonetta.

The structure is very close to the port of Portoferraio, so very convenient to reach, the welcome is very familiar, everyone is very nice and courteous, cleanliness is a strong point, if I were to return to Portoferraio I will not fail to contact the structure for a room, certainly to be recommended.

Strategic location, rich and varied breakfast, rooms with a carefully designed and well-crafted details; accurate and excellent cleanliness. Two days on the island of Elba, cold but fantastic where the mountain and the sea meet. At Al 28 B&B it's like being at home, delicious cake, courtesy, and fantastic rest. A meticulously curated antique and modern decor made with taste, the works with unique bottle caps.

Our experience at 28 B&B was absolutely fantastic. Situated a stone's throw from the historic center of Portoferraio, very close to the Molo, in a beautiful building. The apartment is wonderful, recently renovated, it boasts a timeless design with a perfect combination of ancient and modern. Everything is taken care of in the smallest details and with a thousand attentions, you can feel the affection of the owners for that place full of memories. The welcome is warm and familiar, Barbara and Andrea are personified cordiality! Excellent breakfast and cleanliness. What else to say, we will return again, goodbye! Giulia and Daniele.

I stayed here with my boyfriend for a couple of days but I would have gladly stayed longer. Barbara is amazingly kind, she made me feel comfortable right away and was always extremely helpful from arrival to departure. The B&B is located just a short walk from the Portoferraio embarkations and equally close to the bus station with connections throughout the island. The structure is in a great location, also brand new, the room very spacious, equipped with all possible comforts and with a very comfortable bed! Highly recommended.

I booked two nights at Al 28 B&B to give a birthday gift to a friend who had never visited Elba. And what can I say, from the beginning I could notice the availability of the managers, as I called them late at night! As soon as we arrived, we met Barbara who showed us the house and made us feel at ease. The brand new structure is inside a historic building and offers every kind of comfort. The optimal location, right in the center (maximum 2 minutes walk from the port and 5 from the center), allows you to move on foot without having to take the car. The room, furnished with care and attention to detail, is very clean and with all the comforts you could ask for. The bathroom is a gem. A wonderful terrace where you can have breakfast or enjoy a moment of relaxation outdoors completes everything. The fresh, abundant breakfast, catering to all tastes, is truly exquisite. We will definitely return to this bed and breakfast, different from the usual accommodation facilities, as we immediately felt at home, pampered by the kindness and details that Barbara and her husband had the foresight to notice and take care of. Details that make the difference. 10 out of 10.

I have been to Portoferraio with two friends for three days. The B&B of Barbara is very nice and welcoming, and the decor is very well taken care of. Great location, a stone's throw from the port and a few minutes from the Ghiaie beach. The room we took, the Boheme, was large and comfortable. The only downside is the location, overlooking the main street which is a bit noisy. Barbara, the owner, was very kind, on the last day she allowed us to use the room until 5 pm at no additional cost. Recommended.
