Antichità Lattanzi “La Bottega d'Arte” is a historic workshop located in Carrara.

It was established in 1925 by the current owner's grandfather, who shares the same name, architect Corrado Lattanzi.

The fusion of experiences in the fields of antiques and architecture led to the revitalization of the spaces on the second floor of the workshop, resulting in the design of a B&B. This project is the outcome of a skillful restoration that preserves the historical character of the building while incorporating interior design featuring original furnishings and art objects.

The meticulously reconstructed suites, dedicated to Elisa Bonaparte Baciocchi in neoclassical style, and to Elettra and Ermione, female figures from D'Annunzio's poetic works in Liberty style, will immerse you in the enchanting atmosphere of art and history that has repeatedly placed Carrara in a prominent role.

La Bottega d'Arte B&B is situated on the second floor of Palazzo Lattanzi, a family-owned 19th-century building located on via Cavour, one of the main streets of Carrara, directly across from the municipal square. Nearby are Piazza Alberica and the oldest part of the city, which includes palaces, monuments, art galleries, restaurants, cafes, and the Academy of Fine Arts.

By car, you can access it via the highway or via Aurelia, ascending Viale XX Settembre with paid parking available in Piazza 2 Giugno, right in front of the B&B (free on Saturday afternoons and Sundays) or in nearby free parking areas. During arrival and departure, the owner's garage can be used for loading and unloading luggage.

By train, you can reach it from Avenza Railway Station using buses and public transport.

Carrara is recognized as a UNESCO Creative City for its artistic workshops, and from the B&B, you can explore the historic center, the marble quarries, and the surrounding area on foot, by bicycle, using public transport, or by car, and arrange guided tours.

From Viale XX Settembre, you can head down to the Tuscan Sea and Marina di Carrara, which features beach establishments, bars, and welcoming tourist spots. Visits can be planned to the Cinque Terre Natural Park and nearby cities such as Lucca, Pisa, and Florence.

The B&B “La Bottega d'Arte” offers three rooms equipped with fire-resistant doors and soundproofing, oak parquet flooring, marble bathrooms, antique bathtubs or showers, air conditioning, Wi-Fi, SKY Q, and Smart TV. Two of the rooms have sofa beds for additional guests; a crib for children can also be added. The entire setup is energy-efficient, utilizing LED lighting.

The stay includes access to the ancient marble kitchen, which is equipped with a microwave, coffee machine, refrigerator, kettle, and teapot. Guests can enjoy reading from the library, participate in "Bookcrossing," use antique dishes, serve appetizers, and appreciate art and design objects that are also available for purchase.

Breakfast is served in a historic venue located in the main square of the city. You can find sweet and savory treats, as well as beverages, all made by the best pastry chef and available for you to enjoy. In the B&B's living room kitchen, you will find yogurt, fruits, pastries, fresh bread, water, juices, and many other complimentary snacks and beverages.

Best price/quality ratio of any accommodation in the whole extended area of Cinque Terre/Versilia. Truly a gem, with meticulously curated interiors and very comfortable beds, and overall one of the cleanest places I have ever stayed at. The host cares about giving guests the best possible experience and you will definitely see and appreciate that. We will always come back here when we are again nearby.

The room was a nice size with high ceilings and a comfortable bed. There was enough space to place our belongings. During the day, the sun comes in nicely. At night, the curtains make the room comfortable for sleeping. It was also quiet for sleeping and all the guests were respectful and cordial to one another. Corrado was very friendly and welcoming. He was also very responsive and easy to reach. He provided extra towels when we needed them. The common area with a kitchen and dining table had a nice view of the mountains/quarry, wonderful local treats, and beverages. Everyone at La Crema - where we enjoyed three breakfasts - were kind and generous. The coffee and pastries were delicious. We felt very welcomed in Carrara!

Very nice and very comfortable room, nicely decorated. There is also a kitchen where it is possible to have a coffee, a chocolate or more. Corrado's welcome is really warm. I definitely recommend this place.

Starting with the host, who in my opinion is an extraordinary person. He kindly helped me to solve a problem, even giving me a lift by car to the station. The property is beautiful. The room where I slept is a true work of art (I imagine the other rooms are the same). The room was very clean. Breakfast was provided via a voucher to be used at nearby bars. The only downside I can point out is the lack of an elevator: for me, who was staying with my wife and two small children, it was really tiring to carry the suitcases, but you get used to it since the property is on the second floor. Overall, I give it an 8.

The art shop is a well-kept, clean B&B in a central location. Breakfast can be enjoyed in various bars and/or pastry shops all very close to the property which, in any case, is equipped with a kettle for coffee, tea, and the kitchen is also served with fruit and cookies. Corrado is a kind and helpful host. Recommended!

We felt wonderful, and we will definitely return to Carrara. The rooms combine high-level comfort with the incomparable atmosphere of an imposing palace with beautiful historical artworks. The breakfast voucher solution is perfect for those who appreciate a certain flexibility and want to try 2 or 3 excellent pastry shops in the very nearby surroundings. However, the most remarkable thing was the host's welcome. His cordiality, generosity, and extensive knowledge of local art and history make the stay unforgettable.

A nice, quiet, and bright room in a beautiful centrally located building. The parking in front is convenient, as is the use of the kitchen which makes you feel at home. The owner is very kind and helpful, with many valuable tips for excursions and restaurants. It would be nice to come back.

My stay at the B&B La Bottega dell'Arte was like a shining ellipse. It started from the precise point where I contacted the person who manages it, Mr. Corrado, who is a kind, friendly, curious man, witty and bold, an architect, a lover and connoisseur of art (on the ground floor of the beautiful palace is his antiquarian art gallery) with whom an affinity was immediately created. The subsequent points were to enter and immerse myself in this space that he has made unique: colors, details, artistic visions that make you feel the flavor of an ancient and graceful world and way. I stayed in the Elettra room, I liked it right away: I loved the shower, entirely in dark gray marble, the appliques with the mysterious blue glass heart on either side of the bed, the small wardrobe hidden in the corner of the wall, the beautiful painting on the dresser and the bronze sculpture of the woman with her hair up. I slept well, the double glazing isolates perfectly, the bed and pillows were very comfortable, the white sheets were fragrant. Everything is made even more enjoyable by the care that is evident in other "small" details: various electrical outlets on the sides of the bed, including a USB port, the television where, if you want, you can also watch beautiful movies on Sky... Furthermore, there are three bars where you can choose where to have breakfast: the most prominent bar in Piazza Alberica, a pastry shop with delicious products, another bar for those with food intolerances...: Mr. Corrado really thought of everything and everyone! Nothing is cold or anonymous: even the breakfast voucher is personalized and handwritten by him, on a beautiful postcard that is delivered along with the city map, the indications of places to see and places to eat, etc. The structure also includes a communal area where you can eat something, heat up a meal and prepare a coffee. The closing point of the ellipse was the sound of the imposing wrought iron gate and ancient colored glass that marked the end of my beautiful stay in Carrara at the Bottega dell'arte, which I will carry in my heart and in my memories. In a reality of accommodations where too often everything is an endless clone of something, where the care of the other is only a winking fiction or where dangerous minimalism is a neutral blanket that depersonalizes everything, finding this "Bottega", this "Emporium of beautiful things" was truly BEAUTIFUL. Thank you, Mr. Corrado, for spreading beauty that generates echoes for other beauty.

After six months I am writing the review and I apologize to the kind Mr. Corrado. It is a nice B&B that I recommend to everyone who wants to visit Carrara, the marble quarries, and enjoy a good ice cream in Marina di Carrara. Breakfast could be enjoyed in one of the two nearby pastry bars or could be made independently in the B&B kitchen because there was milk in the fridge and on the table there were jam and packaged sweet things.

Spectacular location, practically in the center with parking in front. A structure in a historic building that truly impressed me with its marbles and designs. Our experience at the B&B La Bottega d'Arte was extremely positive, even though we were guests for only one night. We were welcomed by the owner impeccably, who provided us with all the necessary information for our short stay. The Elisa Room, assigned to us: a blend of ancient tones and modern comforts, was a very pleasant surprise. Our stay in Carrara for the exhibition 'The Sea, Myth History Nature' at Palazzo Cucchiari was the opportunity to see marine masterpieces at the foot of the wonderful Apuan Alps. Worth mentioning, the excellent breakfast at Caffetteria Leon d'Oro where we were welcomed with great cordiality.

Very nice and sweet room, on the second floor of a building in the center of Carrara where it is not always easy to park. It offers many comforts such as a large shower, air conditioning, TV with Sky programs and a small kitchen shared with the other 2 rooms. The voucher for breakfast at the bar is not as pleasant as breakfast made directly in the facilities that offer it, but given the small size of the bed and breakfast in question, you can't ask for more.

Very beautiful and well-kept room and very kind and helpful owner, ready to give directions and information about the area. The central location is very convenient for walking around the city. There is no private parking available but it is not a problem as there is a large parking lot a few steps from the property. The kitchen is very appreciated where you can prepare a coffee or a herbal tea or eat something. Excellent value for money, highly recommended.

As soon as we arrived, the host welcomed us in a space that resembles that of an antique shop, which I found fascinating and explored a bit with my eyes during the check-in procedure, in short, a great welcome! The room was completely renovated but maintained that charm of a historic building, with all the history it carries behind it, starting from the choice of the names of the rooms that the host explained to us had been decided to dedicate to women. The common area was equipped with all the amenities: cups, cutlery, minibar with water bottles at our disposal and various breakfast foods, kettle, coffee machine, and more. Noteworthy detail, the window of the common area with a view of the marble quarries and from which you can see the spire of the Carrara Cathedral. The central location of the property is definitely one of its strengths, and in front of the entrance there is a parking area. Another strong point is undoubtedly the host: restorer and architect (but not only), he introduced us to the history of this city dear to him and provided us with a very useful map in which all the main squares, monuments, places of the city and neighboring areas worth exploring were marked. He pointed out the two affiliated structures for breakfast: one is a bar located in the central square of Carrara (Piazza Alberica) and the other is a pastry shop a few steps from the property and which I would recommend for the vast choice of sweets and their quality. What else to say, if not that for a next stay in Carrara "La Bottega D'Arte" will be a must!

Visiting relatives, we stayed one night in the Elettra room of this bed and breakfast. The room, overlooking the Town Hall square, is perfectly soundproofed, carefully furnished and equipped with every comfort: a large and very comfortable bed, air conditioning, TV with Sky and a choice of pillows. The marble bathroom has a spacious shower, is equipped with a hairdryer and offers customers a courtesy kit that also includes a toothbrush and toothpaste. Included in the price in the common kitchen tea, coffee, chamomile, juices, water, herbal teas and more. In the entrance, customers have a library with books to read/exchange. Everything spotless. Breakfast is served in the affiliated pastry shop around the corner. Absolutely positive experience. Thanks to the very kind and helpful Architect Lattanzi who made us feel immediately at home.

The place is cozy and attention to detail, you really feel at home. Mr. Corrado is a very kind and helpful person. Breakfast is served in a historic bar, I enjoyed an excellent cappuccino (perfect temperature) and ricotta puff pastry. I recommend this B&B, I hope to come back soon, maybe in spring.

We chose this Bed and Breakfast after reading the excellent reviews, and I must say that we also had a great time. We stayed for a few days in August to visit this beautiful area between Tuscany and Liguria. In addition, Mr. Lattanzi is a very kind, friendly, and helpful person. The rooms are very beautiful, equipped with every comfort, and tastefully furnished. I highly recommend it to those who need to go to this area.
