Nestled among the gentle hills of Val di Chiana, on the border between Tuscany and Umbria, Agriturismo La Terra is surrounded by a landscape of vineyards, olive groves, and cultivated fields, in the heart of a region where the relationship between humanity and nature has created a harmonious balance for centuries. Just a short distance from the village of Petrignano, within the enchanting Sienese backdrop, the ancient farmhouse and its expansive panoramic garden provide a tranquil retreat, perfect for those looking to alternate relaxing days with diverse experiences, such as walks in the woods, visits to art cities like Siena, Arezzo, Florence, and Perugia, exploring historic towns like Cortona, Montepulciano, and Pienza, enjoying the thermal baths of Chianciano, Bagno Vignoni, and Bagni di San Filippo, or engaging in activities at Lake Trasimeno. Upon returning, the sunset illuminating the profile of Montepulciano enhances the pleasure of a good glass of wine.
Welcoming guests are Ilaria and Pierpaolo, along with their family, who chose to leave city life behind to embrace the rhythms of nature and share this lifestyle with their visitors. Since 2013, their organic farm and agriturismo have embodied a life project based on respect for the land, care for its products, and the desire to create a place where time flows harmoniously, in an authentic and familial atmosphere.
The typical red-brick farmhouse, already listed in the Leopoldine cadastre at the end of the 18th century, has been renovated while preserving its original character. The interiors, decorated in a traditional style with personal touches, include two independent apartments and two spacious rooms, along with a small dining area. The hospitality provided is attentive and discreet, with special care for families: upon request, amenities for children, games, illustrated books, and tailored attention are available, all in a setting where guests feel naturally welcomed.
Breakfast, lunch, and dinner are served by reservation in the Porcilaia, an independent structure that has been renovated and features a kitchen, a covered loggia, and a bright dining room overlooking a vast panorama that encompasses the Castle of Valiano, Montepulciano, and Mount Amiata. At the helm of the kitchen is Pierpaolo, who offers authentic cuisine inspired by Tuscan family traditions, with influences from Sardinia, his homeland. Bread, breakfast pastries, and fresh pasta are made in-house, while dinner features a fixed multi-course menu that becomes a communal experience to share. The ingredients are seasonal, local, and from controlled supply chains, often sourced directly from the organic farm, including flours, grains, vegetables, fruits, oil, jams, and saffron. The agriturismo also hosts small events and ceremonies, and for those who enjoy traditional flavors, the wood-fired oven is lit once a week for pizza.
Rich breakfast buffet with freshly prepared breads and cakes, jams, cheeses and meats in the area, fruit juices, milk, coffee, tea and yogurt.
At the request eggs or anything else we can offer.
